CCT Founder and Chairman Padmabhushan Dr Chiranjeevi Message
Dear Friends
I wish to share a few thoughts about our own journey, that is CCT.
I have been truly blessed in my life to have achieved this kind of success and recognition. I attribute them to the invaluable support of my loyal fans, well wishers and elders. Chiranjeevi eye and blood bank research and development center is the result of my quest to find an outlet to give back a small portion to the society, that has bestowed on me something I will never be able to fully repay.
Initially I was a bit apprehensive, about how far I would be able to carry this mission, of providing free blood, how consistently will I be able to secure the support of my fans in blood donations. However my fans have amazed me time and again with their overwhelming response. Not only them but bank employees, police officers, house wives, physically challenged people, in essence, people from all sections of the society have shown tremendous amount of enthusiasm to participate in this great human cause .
There have been occasions wherein some house wives confided in me about finding a genuine means through CCT , to give to the society. Occasions when even physically challenged people donated blood and told me that they have a sense of satisfaction of helping the needy. When even under aged children not realizing that they will not be allowed , wanted to donate blood . I feel extremely humbled by the love showered by all of them, my fans and supporters.
Through the journey over the years in CCT, such images of an innate urge of these common people, to serve the needy, show me the path, strengthen my determination and give me the confidence to move ahead, to achieve our goal, of a society that is free from Corneal Blindness and Deaths due to the shortage of blood.

                            THE CHIRANJEEVI BLOOD BANK

MISSION:  In an age where medicine has advanced greatly, blood still remains a scarce life support, highly inaccessible. Added to which is the lurking danger of infected blood seeping into the system due to inadequate facilities and lack of awareness.
At CCT our endeavor is to provide safe and screened blood to every single person in need of it. In years to come CCT envisages to eradicate deaths due to lack of adequate and safe blood supply in A.P and in India .
POLICY: Chiranjeevi blood bank is perhaps the only blood bank in the state, where replacement of blood is not at all necessary.

CCT provides blood absolutely free of cost to the needy and underprivileged. Besides CCT also incurs the costs of blood screening which is about Rs.750/- per unit .In case of economically backward and lower income group people CCT absorbs these screening costs completely. Persons who are white card holders or belong to the family of white card holders and or availing treatment at Government Hospitals are eligible for claiming exemption of screening costs.
CCT provides a subsidy of 50% to those availing treatment at private nursing homes. In case of higher income groups, and those availing treatment at Corporate Hospitals, CCT still provides blood free of cost but the screening costs have to be borne by them.

The Blood bank has provided 3000 donors directly to the Hospitals like NIMS, CARE, APOLLO, USHA MULLAPUDI in cases of emergency that required fresh blood.
The Trust has established five voluntary blood donor clubs in Vishakahapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Hyderabad and intends to meet a target of setting up 50 such clubs to substantially increase the number of blood donations.
A state of the art Components Preparation Unit to accommodate the recent developments in Blood Transfusion will also be added along with measures to upgrade the rest of the equipment Online registration

Power Star Glory Dominates Mega star

Megastar Chiranjeevi has undoubtedly lost some craze and following after he stepped into politics. He was the undisputed king when he was in cinema field. Politicians used to fear that Chiranjeevi would float a party sometime and that would be fatal for them. All those myths have been blown away with Chiru’s mega debacle in the political arena.
Incidentally, his political failures started to show adverse affects on his craze as a film star. Chiranjeevi is not getting good reception from mega fans even. He is already feeling the heat as mega fans are cheering for Pawan even when Chiru is speaking. They are paying deaf ear to boring Chiru speeches and demanding for Pawan Kalyan’s presence and speeches. Megastar has been handling this issue in a fine manner, but also realized the need of the hour.
Chiranjeevi needs to do something extraordinary to win back the lost glory. He has to either rise from the ashes in politics or comeback strongly in film industry to prove that none of the current crop of heroes could match up with him. As per the buzz, Chiranjeevi is planning to do a high budget film in which he would play a powerful role. He wants this film to increase his stature in political field as well as impress the fans that have been losing interest in him of late. It would be a nice idea if Chiranjeevi really implements it. Isn’t it?

MEGA WEDDING WOWS

The high profile Charan-Upasna wedding was graced by the who’s who of politics, tinseltown and business. The biz moguls and filmstars rubbed shoulders with the political elite at the wedding that was pulled off without any hiccups, all thanks to both the families’ endearing hospitality and elaborate planning!
PATRIARCHS’ PERSONAL TOUCH:
If Chiru handled the stars who turned up, it was Upasna’s granddad Dr Prathap C Reddy who tirelessly ensured that the VIPs like businessmen, politicians met the newlyweds and spoke a few words with them.Kudos to the doctor’s energy levels! Chiru’s brother Naga Babu handled the logistics off the mandap and Upasna’s dad Anil Kamineni, on the stage.
SANGITA’S HOSPITALITY:
Sangita Reddy ensuredguests didn’t leavewithout eating breakfast. As she shuttled between the mandap and dining area, she graciously enquired everyone she met, “Did you have food?” — Heartwarming to say the least. Full marks to Sangita and the
Kaminenis in the hospitality department!
VIP TREATMENT:
The right-hand side of the tastefully done-up mandap was an exclusive lounge for VIPs, complete with comfy sofas that offered the best view of the mandap. Also, the front rows were extended on either side.
VIGILANT ALLU ARAVIND:
After Ram Charan’s baaraat arrived and just before Upasna’s arrival, an alert Allu Aravind took to the mandap and stood for a few minutes, with his hands folded, screening the crowd seated in the main area. The man then got down and went around greeting guests seated in the front rows.
ROYALTY IN THE HOUSE:
There was a strong presence of royalty at the wedding. His Highness The Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Marwar-Jodhpur also graced the wedding and stayed put in the VIP lounge.
FOOD:
The sprawling dining areas had on offer a massive breakfast spread. From South Indian to Continental fare, complete with live counters, guests were spolit for choice. Be it the bajre ki khichdi or the plantain-leaf wrapped sandesh, the dishes were authentic
and mouth-watering!

He said that Jagan was trying to preach morals to others, unaware that he was riding the dangerous tiger of corruption. He warned that the minute the tiger gets tired and stops, it would swallow him.
Referring to the campaign of Jagan’s mother Vijayamma that her family was meted out with injustice, he questioned if Vijayamma was unaware of the injustice done by his family to several families which were thrown on roads.

About The Megastar -Detail

Chiranjeevi (Telugu: చిరంజీవి) needs no introduction, (born Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad on 22 August 1955) is an Indian film actor and a politician. He has appeared primarily in Telugu filmsalong with a few Hindi films. After graduating with a degree in commerce, Chiranjeevi made his acting debut in Punadhirallu (1978); Pranam Khareedu (1978) released at the box officeearlier though. His performance in Khaidi (1983) and Swayam Krushi (1987) got him recognition; the latter winning the Nandi Award – his first major award. He subsequently played a variety of character types; his film roles along with his screen persona contributed to a change in the concept of a Telugu film hero.

Rudraveena (1988), for which director K. Balachander won the National Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration was produced by Chiranjeevi..

Popularly known as Megastar in the media, Chiranjeevi was honored with the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award. In 2006, he was presented with an honorary doctorate degree from Andhra University.Chiranjeevi is married to Surekha, the daughter of erstwhile comedian Allu Ramalingaiah. They have two daughters and a son, Ram Charan Teja, who is an actor in the Tollywood.

Megastar Chiranjeevi – the name is almost an integral part of Telugu filmgoers’ daily lives. He is in the hearts of millions of his fans, just like Lord Sree Rama in Lord Hanuman's heart. For some of them he is a brother, for some his is an uncle, and for some others he is a son. He was just a guy when he entered the filmdom, and now, he’s the top star, and has been so since long. It’s approximately 25 years now, since he acquired stardom, and he still has a majority of current cinegoers as his fans. He has almost always been choosing roles that suit him, or roles that he can excel in and prove that he suits the role. He experimented with different characterizations and characters at various times, though his star image restricted him from doing certain roles or making those roles a success. Well, whatever we say about the well-known star would be reiteration of what lakhs of people said and felt.
It’s common in the Telugu Cinema industry that people who are successful in their movies, plan to make movies and slowly build a studio of their own when they get enough profits. Megastar Chiranjeevi is one hero who wanted to spend for deeds of charity than for his own glorification in the industry, as he feels the responsibility towards his fans and, more important, towards the society. It’s not untrue to say that his deeds motivated many of his fans towards charity and social service/welfare. He should be commended for the same.

Acting career
Early beginnings (1978–1982)

Siva Shankara Varaprasad was born as the eldest of three sons of Konidela Anjana Devi and Konidela Venkat Rao. Varaprasad was interested in acting at a very young age. After graduating with a degree in commerce, Chiranjeevi joined the Madras Film Institute in 1977.[4] Since his family worshipped the Anjaneya, a Hindu god, his mother advised him to get the screen name of Chiranjeevi.[5] Upon completion of his film training, he started his acting career with Punadhirallu (1978); however, Pranam Khareedu (1978) released at the box office earlier.[6] Immediately thereafter, he got an opportunity to work in Mana Voori Pandavulu, a film directed by Bapu and written by Mullapudi Venkata Ramana. This film was based on the feudal system in theIndian society.[4] Tayaramma-Bangarayya (1979), I Love You (1979) and director K. Balachander's Idi Katha Kaadu (1979) brought his acting talents to the fore.[4] In 1979, Chiranjeevi had eight major film releases; in 1980, 14 of his films were released,[7] includingPunnami Naagu (1980), for which he won the 1st Filmfare Award for Best Acting, and A. Kodandarami Reddy's Nyayam Kavali (1981). Audiences developed a liking for his "ease in dance movements and swashbuckling fights."[6] In 1982 he appeared in Mondi Ghatam andIntlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya (directed by Kodi Ramakrishna), films which strengthened his status as a star.[5] By 1982, he had appeared in almost 50 films. Within two years of his entry into the film industry, he married Surekha, daughter of well-known comedianAllu Rama Lingaiah.
[edit]Breakthrough to stardom (1983–2007)

Khaidi (1983) brought immediate stardom to Chiranjeevi. Directed by Kodandarami Reddy, this film was based on the Sylvester Stallone-starrer First Blood (1982). Khaidi was a box-office success and gave Chiranjeevi an action hero's image.[5] The duo of Reddy and Chiranjeevi worked together for 23 films, most of which were blockbusters. He was not happy doing only action films and hence he attempted a variety of roles and showed his acting skills in comedies too. After Khaidi, he successively delivered hits like Pasivadi Pranam (1987), Yamudiki Mogudu (1988), where he appeared in a dual role, and Manchi Donga (1988).

His film Rudraveena (1988) not only won the National Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration but also helped him win his second Nandi Award. Music director Ilaiyaraaja and singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam won Nandi Awards for the same film. In 1990,Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Kondaveeti Donga and Raja Vikramarka were his box-office successes. Gang Leader (1991) was also a hit.[8] Regarding his box-office appeal, the entertainment magazine Filmfare called him "bigger than Bachchan", a reference to Bollywood’s Amitabh Bachchan.[9] News magazine The Week hailed him as "the new money machine".

He acted in Hindi films too. His performances were appreciated in Prathibandh (1990), Aaj Ka Goonda Raj (1992) and The Gentleman(1994).

In 1999, Chiranjeevi was to appear in a Hollywood production directed by Suresh Krishna in Telugu. The movie, which was titled Return of the Thief of Baghdad, had its filming suspended for unknown reasons.

Chiranjeevi was honored with the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award. In 2006, he was presented with an honorary doctorate degree from Andhra University.[3] His last film in a leading role was in Shankar Dada Zindabad (2007). Chiranjeevi recently announced his intention to return to the film screen in 2011. The movie title under consideration is Adhinayakudu.

Political career

In 2008, Chiranjeevi started Praja Rajyam, a political party in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Around 10 lakh people attended the launch of the party in Tirupati. At the launch, he stated that social justice was the main agenda of his party. His party in the 2009 general elections won 18 seats in the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly. He was elected a Member of the State Assembly from Tirupati. He lost in Palakollu Constituency as MLA in 2009 general elections. His party merged with indian national congress.

Philanthropy

On October 2, 1998, he founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT), which includes Chiranjeevi Blood and Eye Banks. It is the state's largest recipient of Blood and Eye Donations. The Blood Bank of the CCT helped over 80,000 people and the Eye Bank has helped about 1000 people in the state of Andhra Pradesh since its opening. Around 3.5 lakh people have pledged their eyes to CCT so far, giving 1600 people eye sight through CCT. CCT has also won the "Best Voluntary Blood Bank Award" by the AP State Government for the past 4 years.

On June 10, 2006, the then President of India, Abdul Kalam, inaugurated the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation (CCF) at the Jubilee Hills Check post in Hyderabad.

Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust has crossed the one lakh mark in collecting blood and more than 96,000 people have been helped with blood by this blood bank.

After allegations made against the Blood Bank and Eye Bank by Chiranjeevi's political rivals, the state government of AP constituted a high-level committee to look into the allegations. The committee worked under the guidance of the project director of AP State AIDA Control Society, comprising experts from finance and technical fields, verified records pertaining to the collection and disposal of blood samples, blood grouping, screening, sterilisation, bio-medical waste disposal, camps conducted, blood expiry, quality control, store room, record room and purchase of equipment. Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust got a clean chit from all allegations. Danam Nagender, minister for health and family welfare, speaking after the committee's report, said, “After thorough verification of the records, it’s concluded that there are no evidences of misappropriation, deviations from guidelines issued on collection of blood and screening charges, there are no procedural lapses noticed and all transactions are well within the guidelines of the Naco/Apsacs.”
